Hirose's new IX Industrial connector: robust, compact and high-speed I/O
The IX series reduces installation space by up to 75% when compared to standard RJ45 connectors. With cat.5e (1 Gbps) and CAT 6A (10 Gbps) support, and EMI/ESD features, the IX I/O connector series is suitable for secure and reliable data transmissions up to 10 Gbps.

The series includes board and flying connectors with two color codings for Ethernet and non-Ethernet applications.
In response to market needs for space-saving routing, the 90° connector is introduced, which is free of stress on the connector due to cable bending when space on the connection side of the device interface is limited, can be mounted in parallel with a connector spacing of only 10 mm to allow better optimization of board space.
The vertical type, on the other hand, allows the flying connector to be inserted from the top of the board, thereby increasing flexibility in the PCB design.
The board-mount connectors allow through-hole mounting of the retaining pins to better resist the force applied to the insertion and extraction of the flying connector, protecting the SMT contacts.
In contrast, flying connectors are available with IDC or solder connections.
The cable connection and cable retaining part are integrated in one housing to prevent damage on the connection points caused by twisting or tearing of the rest of the cable.
