EC.8 is the new series of high-speed Ept card edge SMT connectors with a pitch of only 0.8 mm.

The new design results in fewer contact points in comparison with normal male-female connection solutions. As a result, current and data rate properties are positively affected. A clear and fast signal is transmitted at speeds up to 24 Gbps.

Edge connectors stand out in data transfer and signal strength applications. Ept has implemented this technology, introducing features such as: an insertion guide, a coding key, and alignment pins that facilitate connector insertion and prevent incorrect connections.

The number of contacts range from 20 to 200, making the EC.8 a flexible connector for a variety of applications.

Also in the range of board connectors, Ept has also launched the new series Zero8, which takes advantage of ScaleX technology.

This new technology ensures long-term electromechanical stability, even if the connectors are subjected to shock and vibration.
At the same time it allows good tolerance compensation.
The design of the connector also prevents mating errors.
Finally, the shield design on both sides ensures excellent electromagnetic compatibility, making these connectors ideal for error-free data transmissions at high speeds of up to 16 Gbps.

The range of connectors Colibrì COM EXPRESShas been expanded to reach transmission speeds of 16 Gbps in addition to 10 Gbps to meet the market need for stable connections for high-speed transmissions such as USB 3.1 Gen2 and PCI Express 4.0.

The Colibrì connector series has a pitch of only 0.5 mm. Similar to the 10 Gbps version, it is available for board-to-board distances of 5 mm and 8 mm. It is also compatible with the standard version.

To ensure a high-quality signal, ept has optimized the contact design for the entire Colibrì series. All simulation results are available upon request.

Available contacts: 40, 80, 120, 160, 200 and 220, 440 (2x220)

Colibrì connectors are suitable for all applications requiring high transfer rates. In particular, mezzanine card and COM Express systems in areas such as industrial automation, digital kiosks and POS, medical, measurement, consumer and gaming, as well as transportation.
