Point source LEDs are characterized by having a well-defined, freely selectable and homogeneous beam-emitting area.
This allows for a well-focused and uniformly illuminated light spot.
These point sources are therefore the best option in applications where speckle patterns produced by lasers need to be avoided, such as in optical encoders, for fiber-optic data transmission, photoelectric sensors, motion detectors, as well as in visual aids and for fluorescence analysis in microscopy.
To meet all the specifications of different applications, a new Point Source LED with an active area of 250 µm capable of producing 30 times more power than a normal Point Source was developed.
The small and compact ceramic SMD package ensures optimization of output power due to good heat dissipation capability.
