Orvem expands its product range with power terminals for high currents, up to 1000A.
The different press fit, through hole and smd types, as well as custom models, allow for use in various applications, thanks in part to quick assembly.
The main advantage of press fit technology is firstly that it does not require soldering; terminals are easily inserted into the process without requiring special instrumentation and can be assembled simultaneously in the case of multiple elements on pcb, ensuring a highly cost-efficient assembly.
On the application side, pcbs are not exposed to temperature stress due to very low heat development despite high power ratings, helping to preserve their optimal operation.
They also ensure a solid mechanical connection.
Single-piece press fit designs can reach currents of up to 1000 A, depending on the pin layout and arrangement on the circuit.- In addition to custom models, standard models are available with pin numbers from 4 to 36 (M3 to M12), with different layout and configuration on the base, and carry a current of up to 15 A/pin.
- Sizes range from 5x5 to 22x22 mm, with a minimum height of 3mm and a minimum required pcb thickness of 1.5 mm.
Two-part press fit models, on the other hand, can reach currents of up to 500A depending on pin layout, and are typically a solution for “through screw technologies” on printed circuit boards.
They ensure a secure and durable connection and guarantee stress-free mounting on the pcb.
The base is fixed on pcb with press fit technology, while the socket has a press fit from the back of the pcb.
- In addition to custom models, standard models are available with pin numbers from 8 to 20, and carry a current of up to 15 A/pin.
- Sizes range from 9x9 to 22x22 mm, with a minimum height of 3 mm and a minimum required pcb thickness of 1.5 mm
Through-hole and smd models, on the other hand, allow assembly with automatic machines and reflow soldering. They can be supplied on a reel.
These types support currents up to 50 A/ 85 A, depending on pin layout. They are available in 4-, 8- and 9-pin configurations and M3 to M10.
